We baked a cake...

I'm not much of a baker. I loooooooooove to cook, but baking and I have just never really gotten along. Having said that, I really want to start introducing Eleda to the kitchen more, and with a new baby our quality time is limited, so I decided to make the best of it by baking a cake together during a few quiet minutes. It's a boxed mix, but ok for our first try.



Eleda's favourite part was when I cracked the eggs and let her pour them in. That part was a little too hands-on to snag a photo of, so here's one of her pouring in the water.

And, of course, the mixing. It's clearly a two person job.

I thoroughly enjoyed photographing her licking the beater, and getting chocolate all over her face.

In the end it was a freaking mess lol... part of the cake got stuck in the pan despite having sprayed it with oil... But to save the day I whipped up a quick chocolate ganache with which to glaze the cake. While said glaze didn't *quite* cover the disaster, the taste was so overwhelmingly delicious that it just didn't matter!
