Little mommy

Ever since Ashton came along, Eleda has kicked into super-nurture mode (kindly disregard the jammies and dishevelled hair). Today she strapped Dora into her high chair and fed her some pizza... ...and of course some tea!

When she was done, she attemted to change Dora's diaper... such a sweetie!

Teddy

When Ashton was a day old, my friend Jess came to visit me in the hospital. Sadly, Ashton was in the NICU and they weren't allowing many visitors due to the H1N1 hysteria, so she didn't get to see him, but she brought him gifts including a little cuddly teddy bear (wearing teddy bear slippers) with a shirt that says "thank heaven for little boys". The bear stayed with Ashton to keep him company in the NICU when we couldn't be with him, and now he loves it so much it has to be with him at all times. It's generally wet from him sucking on or gumming it, but it's just so cute to see the comfort and happiness it brings him.

Spring is here!!

Alan has been working and generally busy a LOT lately. Eleda has been missing him terribly! Today he got home from work at a reasonable hour, and he took Eleda out for some quality time. First he got out her fishing rod and they practised casting in the front yard. Then they got their shovels and started working on the front garden. So much cuteness!

Miracle Man

No photos yesterday. I was mourning and celebrating the birthday of a friend I recently lost.

Today I am renewing my focus on the things I value and cherish in my life. One of those things is my miracle man Ashton. We went through a lot to bring him into the world, and I praise God every day for blessing me with this miracle.

Day at the park

It was such a gorgeous day we spent the morning at the park. We had a blast. We have been going to the park a lot lately, but I keep either forgetting my camera or the darn memory card!

Since we now have lots of sunshine after dinner, I decided to take the kids out to the back yard to play for a little while. Not a great photo, I was attempting to take photos while nursing.I have a great appreciation of the Happy Meal. I tuck the toys away for opportune times, such as waiting for dinner at the restaurant this evening. The toy is a little iCarly "laptop"... Leda calls it her 'puter. She appears to be just about as attached to it as mommy is to hers. Uh oh.

Easter Bonnet

After years of my poor mom trying to teach me with no success, I finally learned how to crochet, courtesy of a fellow Wundermum (thanks, Angela!). Eleda was sent a stunning dress for her last birthday by a dear family friend and it's goung to be perfect for Easter, so I thought I would make her a hat to go with it.

OK. I was wrong...

After checking out my memory card, it seems that I did take some photos over the last few days... so I will post them over the next few days!

Here we were getting ready to go to the park on a beautiful March day.
I love love love these 2 together. I am an only child, so seeing the love between them totally catches me off guard and melts my heart.

Off the wagon

It seems I fell off the blog wagon for a couple days... I am making a commitment to myself to make sure to take and post some new pics later today. If I type it, it will come...

Rocking "Baby Girl" in the cradle...

Eleda was playing in our room while I was feeding Ashton in the living room, and she came out to tell me that she ate some "medicine". I racked my brain for what she could have eaten and determined she ate the last Tums. Not a great mommy moment, but not deadly either. Then she told me she wanted to rock her Baby Girl in the cradle. I figured she was just putting the doll in there, but when I went in to see her, this is what I found...

Peek-a-Boo

They know me so well...

We celebrated my birthday with my parents last night... and they got me the perfect gift. Along with a trip for some new, non-maternity clothes, was a sack of wine, cheese, chocolate and various types of wine & food related literature. It really doesn't get much better than this.

I think part of the problem is that because I'm so tall and have giant feet, shopping for myself has never been any fun. So I shop for my kids, and it's better than any drug I've ever heard of!
I've been lusting over these shoes for a while and finally placed my order... came home from my birthday dinner to the box waiting on my front porch! It's love...
